I assume everyone here has seen this, but for those who haven't, it was a very cruel trick played by IGN earlier this year:
I think, by and large, that it's something to aspire to. |

I love this thing. I have watched it too much. One of their filming locations is actually I spot I was looking into the other day. |

The trailer is also excellent for showing what *doesn't* work, just as much as what does. For instance, I'm not a huge fan of the accents (though I get why they did it), and I much prefer clean-shaven Ganondorf, at least for Ocarina of Time. In OoT, he's a relatively young, very fierce warrior king. The beard, to me, signifies the older, "wiser" Ganon from Wind Waker. Grampa!Ganon, as it were. |

Well it was an April's fool trailer, if it didn't change canon, it wouldn't have fooled anybody |

I do agree about clean-shaven Ganondorf, but that has issues of its own. If you've seen "There Will Be Brawl" over at The Escapist, their Ganondorf is clean-shaven (and if you haven't, check it out, because it adapts a lot of video game characters to live-action, including Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf). The problem is, it sort of accentuates how ridiculous his hair looks, since it is bright orange and kind of spiky, and looking ridiculous instead of scary is bad. They still do a pretty decent job with it, though, so we can probably work with it, too. |

I checked the series earlier this morning, as I hadn't seen it before. I think a good way to make him not look "silly" would be to just desaturated his color scheme, like they did in The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger's Joker. Another way, would be to play with the lightening to convey the general scary mood. |
